Space Marketplace

Space Marketplace allows connecting data producers and data consumers by enabling Onedata space advertising and discovery.

Spaces can be advertised so that any user authenticated in the Onezone can discover them in the Marketplace and request access. Requests are being sent to the maintainer's contact e-mail address using an automated mailing system. The maintainer decides whether to grant or reject access requests.

At any time, the space can be withdrawn from the Marketplace.

Exercise: advertising space

  1. Create a new space: navigate to the DATA tab, and click on the Create space icon.

  2. Enter the following name of the new space: <YourUsername> advertised space, and confirm it.

  3. In the Resolve membership request modal, accept the request using the Grant access button.

  2. Go to the DATA tab and examine if you can see the granted space.

Exercise: disabling space advertisement

  1. Go to the DATA > <YourUsername> advertised space > Configuration view.

  2. Disable the Advertise in Marketplace toggle and confirm the action in the Disable space advertisement modal using the Proceed button.

  3. Go to the Marketplace view and check if your space has disappeared from the advertised spaces list.

  4. Go to the DATA > <YourUsername> advertised space > Members view and note that the members list has not changed.

A user added via the Marketplace is treated as any other user and the fact that the space has been withdrawn does not impact their membership.
