Onedata at DCM 2026: Planning an Onedata–Dataverse Integration

At DCM 2026 in Barcelona, Onedata presented a plan for a future integration with Dataverse, to be developed as part of the upcoming AI4Social+ project starting in late 2026.

The annual Dataverse Community Meeting brings together researchers, data stewards, repository managers, and software developers from around the globe to advance data sharing, curation, and digital preservation. Dataverse Community Meeting 2026 (DCM 2026), hosted at the World Trade Center in Barcelona, took place from 12 to 15 May 2026.

The conference focused on enhancing repository workflows, dataset interoperability, AI integration, and sensitive data handling. Onedata contributed to the programme by outlining how active data management platforms could connect with repository software, linking active research with long-term publication.

Planning an Onedata–Dataverse Integration

On Wednesday, 13 May, Onedata was featured during Parallel Sessions 1 with a presentation titled “Bridging Active Data Management and Research Data Publication: Integrating Onedata with Dataverse.”

In this session, Łukasz Opioła outlined how Onedata could connect high-performance storage and active research environments with Dataverse repositories. The proposed workflow is intended to make it easier to move large-scale datasets from active processing to publication while preserving critical metadata and organizational context. We aim to develop this integration further through the upcoming AI4Social+ project, scheduled to start toward the end of 2026. The presentation also opened the door to collaboration.
