Community contribution: Onedata Drive 25.1 for Windows officially released
We are pleased to announce the first official release of Onedata Drive, a native Windows sync client for Onedata. It was developed with support from CESNET by a team at Masaryk University in Brno, a long-standing contributor to the Onedata community. This initial release supports Onedata 25.1.
Onedata Drive lets you work with Onedata spaces through the Windows graphical interface and CLI tools. To get started, choose your Onezone and sign in with an access token generated in the Onedata web interface. Once connected, your spaces appear as folders, and you can browse and manage files with familiar tools.
The app is designed to use minimal local storage. Cloud-only files take up very little space on your computer and are downloaded from Onedata when you open them. Local changes are synchronised back to Onedata, keeping your spaces up to date.
Onedata Drive supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 and is distributed through the Microsoft Store, which provides official downloads and automatic updates.
Onedata Drive is still under development. The current installation packages are beta versions and are not intended for use with production data.
Onedata Drive is open-source software, with source code available in its GitHub repository.
