What’s New in Onedata 25.2

  • Register cross-zone share URLs on HTTP storage — a public file share URL from one Onedata zone can be registered as a file in a space supported by HTTP storage in another zone. The file can then be accessed through that space while its content remains hosted at the source; Onedata detects its size automatically.

Web GUI

  • Clearer transfers table — the status column is always visible, and the type and destination share one column.
  • Provider details and versions on the map — the providers map shows refreshed provider information, including the software version.
  • Find a space by its ID — the sidebar search matches space IDs.
  • Docs links for your version — documentation and API links point to the reference for the version you run.

APIs & clients

  • S3 credentials for tokens — the web interface gives the access key ID and secret access key for S3 tokens.

Administration

  • Custom button styles — experimental support for customizing button styles with static files lets you brand your deployment without rebuilding the software.

  • VFS-13371 (Oneprovider, Onezone) Added support for HEAD requests to the file content download REST endpoints (by file ID and by path). They return the Content-Length and Accept-Ranges headers without the file content; directories are not supported. This allows publicly shared files to be registered on an HTTP storage by their public URL (including the Onezone share URL), with the file size detected automatically.
  • VFS-13395 (Oneprovider, Onezone) Web GUI: Added support for searching a space by ID triggered after entering at least 2 characters in the sidebar.
  • VFS-13461 (Onezone) Web GUI: Refreshed design of provider information on providers map, added version info.
  • VFS-13511 (Oneprovider, Onezone) Web GUI: Updated docs/API links to the new paths used on onedata.org. Links are now pointing to the API docs version matching version of software.
  • VFS-13513 (Oneprovider, Onezone) Web GUI: Fixed wrong color of "Files" item in space sidebar when user has no privileges.
